The Samsung 192N hails from Samsung's analog LCD monitor line. Offering a very attractive, thin-bezel design, the 192N is a stylish addition to any computer workstation, and an excellent overall package.
Our test monitor showed no signs of visible dead pixels, and clear, colorful images right out of the box. Documentation and ease of set up are good, and image quality is well defined right out of the box. Offering a fairly average 25 ms response time, the 192N is a fair choice for gamers, but not amongst the very best.
The main differences between the Samsung 192N and it's companion Samsung 191T is the 192N's lack of digital input (DVI) and a lower contrast ratio (500:1 for the 192N vs. an even more impressive 700:1 for the 191T).
Pros:
- Stylish, thin-bezel design with integrated power supply
- Clear, crisp display in native 1280x1024 resolution; excellent small font display
- Very strong contrast ratio of 500:1 offers nice dark and black tones
- No dead pixels found in test unit
- Competitive 3-year limited warranty
Cons:
- Lacks digital input (DVI) support for use with most recent graphics cards
- Included stand not amongst the most flexible; lacks side to side swivel
- The 192N's 25 ms response time is average for gaming and video playback
- Average overall brightness (250 nits)
