MHO: Costco is a little more "upscale."
The products are a little higher-end, but about the same price.
Both take ATM/debit cards. As for credit, Costco takes AMEX only, Sam's takes DISCOVER only (oh, and the Wal-Mart MC, I think).

Around my area (Houston), there are only two Costcos, while Sam's is everywhere.

Costco did have a superior warranty (10 years on virtually everything), but Sam's has now decided to do the same.

I've always wanted to try Costco, but I have a free Sam's membership from my Father-in-Law, so I'm not complaining. :)

sam's is better because the people that give out the samples of food are nicer. whenever i go to my local sam's they give me the biggest pieces:)

Costco has always seemed like the Sam's clone to me. They usually are smaller as weel (or so it seems to me)

Therefore, more stuff = better

my vote goes to sam's

Sams club buffalo chicken & ranch pizza = win.

Sams generally has cheaper items, but a worse selection. We have great baked goods, and an awesome meat dept, but our produce is generally beat up. Costco also has a more expensive membership, and Sams is open earlier.

I dont even shop where i work because i loathe giving them money after how they treat myself and co-workers, and im currently seeking other employment.
