SAM'S Club one-day Guest Pass

Found a guest pass in their "Membership Matters" Gift Catalog.

Not sure if you can print it out. Here's the link (page 37):

Linky

I just walked in to my local club and picked up a few catalogs. Or, ppl leave them in their carts in the parking lot.

No service charge for CA. (w00t)

yeah, i'm a costco lifer too.

went to sam's today using the pass to buy a bed (costco has sealys, not sertas). their customer service stinks! first i was told by 4 mouth breathers that you can't buy furniture with the pass. i called over a manager and straightened everything out, but the frontline ppl were just plain rude.

what's your beef with em?

After too many bags/sacks of fruit and veg that were more than 1/2 rotten inside, inconsistent stocking and pricing of merchandise, the lack of english speaking employees and filthy stores, I am going to let me Sam's Club membership expire for the first time in over 10 years.

I think I will go to Costco and see if they have a day pass.

Thanks. I only go there to get a few cases of bottled waters (Poland Spring) every few months, so it's not worth it to me to buy a membership. I always look for these guest passes. Thanks again.

Oh, as an FYI to anyone who wants to print it, it's on page 37 of the catalog.

eh, i just use other peoples memberships, whether it be for Costco, Bj's, Etc.

I find it ridiculous that you have to have a membership to shop in those megalomarts(everything in the store is supersized), and i downright refuse to pay for one.

If I'm not mistaken, costco doesn't have any days passes available. However, if you sign up and want to cancel your membership at any time, costco will give you a full refund.

But, you'll probably be happy with costco. (after 10 years of Sam's at least)

😕
😱

You are not forced to shop there, cheap ass.

I guess i am cheap, when i pay for a membership for anything i feel obligated to get as much out of it as i can, there isn't much i want in those warehouse stores other than the occasional electronic item. I don't buy bulk items.

I pay for a costco membership and shop once maybe twice a year, doesn't make a lot of sense to me, why pay for something you'll almost never use?

we are Sams members and me and my wife were considering joining costco so we went over to look around to check prices compared to sams. everything we buy at sams is the same at costco same price a few things were pennys in differance, the crowds at costco are 3 times that they are at sams in my area, so lets think about this i said to my wife, joining costco saves us no money over sams and takes twice as long to get shopping done kind of a no brainer. these two stores have all the same products as far as food items, a few things are different but its like the same store with different names.

When I was in high school I used to get $80-100/pair jeans at Sam's for $30-40.

Their computer deals were never any good, though.

Is there something specific at Sam's now that's a hot deal even at a 10% premium?

(Everything you buy with a one day pass, you have to pay 10% extra.)

I don't like shopping at these Costco/Sams type clubs because I'm single and live on my own. What the hell am I going to do with those extra-large portions of everything they sell, except watch it go bad and end up throwing it in the garbage? That's why I only get my cases of Poland Spring 24oz sport pack waters there, perfect for work and the gym.

We have a membership at Costco, which if it lapses they "automatically" renew when you next buy something.

They always want my card AND drivers license, so lots of luck using somebody else's.

Sams day pass works great for me, they do them several times a year, and no surcharge in Calif. I like the Seville Classics clone of metro wire racks, and Sams and Costco carry different versions, and I like model Sams has a bit better than the Costco.

What sucks for me is we used to have a warehouse outlet store here for costco returns and open box stuff, and it just went all wholesale, no retail. My last purchase a pair of UGG type boots for my son for 50 cents.
