OK guys, I know u folks r sick of this question asked again and again, and personally even I dont read threads with such titles but I "think" I did things right while switching vid cards.
1. Uninstall drivers from control panel.
2. Restart and in safe mode, run driver cleaner.
3. Replace card and install new drivers.
I am moving from a Geforce TI 4200 AGP4X 128mb to a Geforce 6600GT AGP, the rest of the specs are:
Pentium 4 2.4C
Intel D865PERL
1GB Kingston 3200, value ram
Seagate Baracuda 7200rpm 120GB
Now my 3dmark2001se score is 11xxx which is SHAMEFULL considering I could get this with my older card, whereas 3dmark2003 score is around 6xxx which is quite low but I am cpu limited.
Doom3 score at 640 X 480 medium quality (all advanced options besides AA turned on) went from 27 to 44.
once again, sorry about the boring question
