Looks like Wally world is selling a non-Microsoft computer on their website now for less than 200 dollars...

Just heard about it on Clark Howard

I'm pretty sure Wal-Mart has had Lindows-based machines for sale for a while now.

Never heard of Lycoris before, though.

bill gates would win, sam walton is rolling in his grave because his daughters are selling chinese products

It actually looks like windows...it's almost sickening

Tried it out for a couple of hours once; good for windows converts and not much else

Wow, that's the first time I've seen SuSE OEM'd. 🙂

As for cheap Linux boxes, Walmart has been selling them for quite some time now, although I don't think it's been a full year yet.

Lycoris

Woah, a new flavor of Linux. They are going to have to rename Linux Baskin Robbins soon. Anyone used it before?

Yeah, about 10 months ago. It's definitely a "kiddie" distro.

I knew that they had lindows before, but this is the first time I have seen one under 200 bucks

It's listed on thier website, but do they have any in stock? Have thery sold any? That's what counts. I definitely wouldn't buy that thing.

I would hazard a guess that you would not buy clothes from there either...yet the sell more clothes than any other retailer in the world

Somehow, I don't think people who frequent these forums are in Wal*Mart's target demographic for computers. 😉
