Ok, "acid" has long been slang for d-lysergic acid diethylamide, aka LSD. This is a synthesized chemical, and it requires a solid knowledge in organic chemistry to make. It is very easy to make something completely different, and possibly poisonous. The DEA also watches the buying of precursors such as ergot very closely, and so it is fairly rare these days.

Obviously, the Native Americans, though a very smart group of people, did not have knowledge of modern organic chemistry. And, even if they somehow did, they would not have the ingridients nor the tools neccesary for the synthesis of LSD-25.

"Peyote" has indeed been long used by Native Americans and other tribal groups. The chemical is actually mescaline, known to be less visual and more spiritual in the hallucinogen world. These days, peyote is so rare, that it's much easier to get it out of San Pedro cactus. Even Indian tribes are using the cactus instead, these days. If you'd like to try it out, you can order a dried cactus off the Net and extract some tasty mescaline.

I tried it once.... it was definately a weird trip. It last like 5 minutes, and it just felt like an insane headrush. It felt like I was a third of my weight, and very very active. Too bad this is the best we can do legally haha.

with regard to OP's topic, would those who have actually tried salvia care to talk ab their experiences? (besdies the fact that it's 'boring' 😉 CorpRec).. I was taught that it's very different from the classical psychedelics and affects a completely different receptor network.

edit:MichaelD, I don't think anyone has made any pretenses of 'navigating uncharted territory' in this discussion.. you came in, flamed the OP and presented a number of jumbled up facts; three people responded within 10 minutes with more accurate information. I can respect the fact that you may have had more experience with different substances, but there was no need to take the attitude you did.
