Well, you guys that said I was going to blow something up were, as expected, 100% wrong. My first soap production was a 100% success. This is only part of the process, but I LOVE this soap. It was made with 100% canola oil. No fragrance of any kind. But it has some naturally awesome sweet smell. Love it.

Here is right after I made it:

Then here it is after it hardened for several days:

Even though it has hardened it is still a very "soft" soap, I love it. Notice how some of the soap has been clawed out.... that is for the next stage in the process hint hint. :)

And the lather on this thing is quite impressive, as you can see below:

Next up.... its free fatty acid production time! I'm going to call on all ATOTers for help with that, and you in particular Lab Rat!!!!

Thanks for all the help thus far!!!

Never seen a soap before that's capable of inducing vomiting with only a picture! Nice work!

:p

I see an attempt at SaltyHandpr0n.

That soap must be a bitter tasting one, because that's what potassium does to taste. Salt substitutes should be called banana substitutes because Potassium cannot replace sodium inside the body's soup. They interact with each other.

Homemade soaps should be edible, haha. After, the oil is edible and all that changed was a chemical bond with a metal like sodium, potassium. Same concept behind making pills.

Yeeaars ago, Dr Bronner advertised on the bottle(if you could find it!) using their soap as a toothpaste. Like a dumbass, I tried it. Shockingly, it tasted just like soap. You'd have to really hate yourself to use that as toothpaste every day.

Buy some of Salty's soap & you can floss with it too.
"Soap pulling" rather than oil pulling(thank the Ayurvedics for it).

The bitterness of potassium is an exercise in willpower.

He could have truly made soap "salty" using sodium hydroxide instead of potassium.

Is this for eventual sale? Will the pubes cost extra?

This was just a trial run. But it made SO much, much more than I was expecting. So yes, I'll probably just sell some on the cheap, as I have to make room for new soap recopies!

Those are not pubes, LOL, those are hairs off my head. It is so awesome I also use it to shampoo my hair. :)
