I grew up LOVING salty snacks... potato chips, ranch doritos, nacho with salsa, nacho with melted cheese, BEEF JERKY, pretzel sticks, popcorn, NUTS! (almond, cashews, peanuts), cheese, crackers, and crap load of other types I can't think of.

I love salty snacks because they also go very well with beer....

My GF LOVES sweet snacks.... ALL KINDS OF ICE CREAM, Godiva Chocolate, chocolate-covered strawberries, chocolate-covered coffee beans, COOKIES (Milano!, chocolate chip cookies, raisin cookies), Oreos, gummi bears, poprocks, lolipops, CHEESECAKE, apple pie, danish pastries, cotton candy, etc....

When I was younger, I would choose salty in a heartbeat but as I got older, I seem to have grown a sweet tooth. I can't decide now.

Which do you prefer? Also be sure to post your answer with your favorite sweet/salty snack we may have missed.

i think it all depends on what else I plan on eating/drinking during the course of the day. I have a major sweet tooth, I love all kinds of sweets. But lately, as snacks I've been trying to go a somewhat healthy route, such as yogurt or something.
i love jerky too, but..mm, sad, because my favorite jerky is somewhat expensive, but has great value ($12 for a 1lb back, the World's Kitchen brand jerky, find it at Kroger and sometimes a few other places).

Salty kicks Sweet's butt.

My favorite is popcorn with salt 'n' butter. Made in a pot on the stove. Mmmm.... That would go well with the beer I'm drinking right now. Be right back!

no go on chunky monkey, but i love frozen yogurt, but never actually buy it. but ice cream is always in my freezer (chocolate varieties), and cookies and milk, mmhmm. Got a stash of a few boxes of oreos for that reason too.

Man, salty stuff is really good, but sometimes I have a huge hankering for some gummie bears. So both are pretty good. Salty wins though.

I think you got it backwards.

Salty when hungry: jerky, nachos, wings, etc...
Sweet when full: all kinds of dessert

That's probably my biggest "sweet" craving is gummy candy.

Gummy cherries and strawberries are oh-soo-gooooooooooood.

I go for salty more often than I go for sweet. I love potato chips, popcorn, pickles, nachos etc. But sometimes I prefer sweets and when you're in the mood for sweets salty just won't cut it. If you've got a hankering for chocolate ice cream all the salty snacks in the world won't make it go away.
