I had the biopsy done on that lump in my mouth yesterday. They told me to rinse my mouth frequently with warm salt water. what does adding salt to the water do (other than make it taste like shit?)

Anything more than about 2 shakes of salt from a salt shaker in about 12 oz. of water makes me gag and dry heave like crazy. Is 2 shakes of salt in 12 oz. of water enough? I hate warm beverages, and especially warm water.

whats the best way to get around this?

Never been to the ocean huh?

nope, never.

Doesn't sound like you'd enjoy it.
Great Lakes should be fine though..

Man up. There's no way around it. Well, you could enquire whether diluted hydrogen peroxide is a suitable substitute. Warm salt water is the go-to remedy for minor mouf wounds like cancor sores 'n' such because it is readily available, harmless and virtually free.
