Salt stains from walking in the snow

Am I the only person who gets the bottom back of my pants all salty/white from walking in slush? You know, walking in salted snow. It seems like all of my jeans have this happen, but I don't notice it happening to other people.

Do I just walk like a clown or something?

You should see my formerly-brown leather shoes. They're now white. I've given up trying to wash them at this point.
 
This always happens to me. I am learning to walk using more calf muscles so I am not dragging feet on the road surface.

Machine wash, no. I wash/rinse my jeans by hand daily when they get salt on them, clothes last a lot longer if you hand wash and hang dry them.
 
I only buy quality $200 jeans, which don't display the signs of wear and poverty that the dungarees of the downtrodden do.

I refuse to wash jeans after wearing them once. Or even twice. Or even three times.

Do your legs get all sweaty and make your jeans dirty? Undergarments of various styles collect the grime, jeans shouldn't get dirty unless you're a filthy individual.

And it's not good for the denim to wash hundreds of times. They won't hold up for long.

I always wash my jeans, and all of my clothes, after each use. I've been on the same pair of jeans for at least three years.
 
For my own sidewalk, driveway, & stairs, I've switched from salt to coal cinders. It's 100 times easier to clean up when it's tracked into the house, and it doesn't leave stains on clothes like in the OP.
 
Apparently, only InflatableBuddha understands living in cold country. Your pants go inside your boots. You put on your work shoes after you get there. Oy!

Mom does hem them for me, and it still happens!


I don't like tucking into my boots unless it's winter-spring and there are puddles everywhere. Thanks for reminding me actually, I could use a pair of CSA/steel-toe rain boots.
