Haha, so much more true than you realize. She waved a red cape in front of him and he charged through it because he couldn't realize there was nothing there.

He could have let her be replaced in a few days anyway by Sessions and nothing would have changed. Instead, he gave her exactly what she wanted.

Trump is so easily played it's sad.

Alan Desrshowitz was on CNN going on about how he didn't have to do that and could have appointed a special defense to do what she wouldn't. He was going on about the nuance of law etc and how the admin could be smart. Guess he hasn't been paying attention.

She effectively submitted her resignation in a way that would damage Trump and he took the bait. Just read the statement the WH put out....it's obvious he wrote it himself.

Meanwhile from a hearing in 2015 Sessions is questioning Yates...
Sessions...
“You have to watch out because people will be asking you to do things and you need to say no,” Sessions said during the hearing. “If the views the president wants to execute are unlawful, should the attorney general or the deputy attorney general say no?”

Yates answer...
“Senator, I believe the attorney general or the deputy attorney general has an obligation to follow the law and the Constitution and to give their independent legal advice to the president,” Yates replied.

If Sessions makes it through and gets confirmed we'll see how well he takes his own advice. Not very well is my guess, he will be just another toady to Trump's whims and fantasies. I hope I am wrong.

He won't be able to speak his mind. Trump's d1ck will be a permanent fixture in his mouth.

Then again based on previous reports he may be able to get some words out.

Meh. Both sides get what they wanted. Trump gets to look strong by being intolerant of insubordination and also sends a message to other exec branch employees.

She was going to be terminated in a matter of days anyway. She gets to go out in a blaze of (progressive) 'glory'. Having now made a name for herself she can return home and run for office.

Nothing complicated.

Makes more sense now though to see why President Trump got rid of the partisan tools in the State Department. They'd all be pulling the same crap as "stab em in the back" Sally.
