Sales Technique: Getting past gatekeeper

If you are coldcalling a companies main desk and looking to be transferred to a specific manager. How would you go about getting that persons name or the person in charge of that department and getting transferred.

Why did you take a job as a coldcalling salesperson? IMO, no matter WHAT it is that you're selling, you're not getting anywhere, nor selling anything.

I've worked on commission a few times in my life and hated it. It was feast or famine. Usually famine. I just can't lie to people and tell them what they want to hear just to make a buck. Besides; when they're not happy, they come back to haunt you.

The reason you failed at it was because you thought you had to lie, and then lied. People actually need and want to buy products, yaknow... you don't have to lie.

Sales is about building and maintaining relationships, finding and working with people who need/want/benefit from your product and services. Not lying and fsckin' people over.

It really depends on how you do it 😉
