Sale - Sapphire Fury Nitro for $350 @ Amazon and Newegg

FYI just picked one up, amazing deal especially @ amazon with $30-50 back will go nicely with my Acer XR314CK! 😀 Ultrawide 1440p 75hz IPS w/ Freesync, total under $900 for card and monitor.

This is the Fury AIR, not X, but has an amazing (but large) cooler. Might be able to unlock extra cores. Great deal price/perf @ 1440 or above, especially in DX12/Vulkan.

For those looking for something more powerful than the 480 but supports AMD / Freesync.

If anyone can post such price drops in Europe, please do not hesitate to do so.

Unfortunately, it's way harder to find nice deals in Europe and shipping is also a huge issue if you are not lucky enough to live somewhere in Western Europe.

Congrats to your nice card and monitor!

With Vega next year I'm almost tempted to pick one up for Crossfire BF1 performance.

Almost.

I'm pretty sure we'll have an AMD card at at least 1070 DX11 performance at that price this time next year. Besides, it'll be better to play BF1 with slightly reduced settings or framerates for a while before upgrading and getting some extra oompf. I played BF4 on a mobile Fermi chip until exactly 1 year ago when I got my Fury, after all, and man was that an upgrade.

The Nano at 300~350$ would be an absolute steal, alas there aren't any stock clearance deals over here!

Forgive me forum, for I have sinned. I violated my buying sweet spot of <$250 to purchase this card.

I rationalized it this way:
-At $340ish after tax and discount (Amazon) it is unrivaled for top tier AMD performance.
-The card is simply perfection. Ultra-quiet air cooler, double ball bearing fans, high build quality.
-I have a Freesync 34" Ultrawide, and my overclocked R9 290 at 3440x1440 sometimes left me wanting just a bit more performance.
-I can now retire my 290 to mining duty. Which will further defray the cost over time.
-DVI OC (2560x1440 @ 120Hz) support. Not a deal breaker for me as I could simply retire my DVI-D only monitor, but I'd prefer not to. Why waste a perfectly good, calibrated monitor?
-Now I can safely avoid the temptation of further GPU purchases until Big Pascal/Vega hit.

Hahaha my exact reasoning 😀, figured will hold me off until Vega, or maybe even Navi while giving me the extra perf boost from my amazingly well aged 290. This monitor is beautiful and freesync is great so needed something to give me the extra perf boost.

Good news is my chip seems to be able to hit close to 1200MHz with voltage. Still tweaking, but was able to bench at that core clockspeed. Bad news is it looks like 1 of 8 units is misaligned per CUinfo 1.6, so I can't unlock any CUs. Oh well.

For everyday OC I've tried 1100MHz core with no added voltage. Seems stable so far.

Nice. I've read that the later chips (Nitro) OC much better than the launch cards like mine. I've only made brief forays into voltage overclocking, enough to know that 1150 isn't even stable at +96mv, but 1100 is rock solid with some extra. Don't feel like trying to a find an exact max because I prefer not to overvolt (Fiji voltage should be done in +06mv increments, btw). At least I got a few extra CUs.

Btw, the belief for the memory (based on an OC UK AMD Rep) is that the HBM can only run at 500MHz, 545MHz, 600MHz, or 666MHz. Anything else it rounds up or down and misreports it. I'm not sure if its been proven yet, but it's common to see people report 570MHz stable (rounds to 545) and 575MHz unstable (rounds to 600). 545MHz seems almost guaranteed, 600MHz is rare but not unheard of.

I crapped out at 1240 MHz on the core @ +96mV. Haven't tried hitting the limits on memory yet, but 545 runs fine no extra voltage.

I think I've found my baseline everyday OC at 1125/545 with a very slight -10mV undervolt. ASIC 64.8% so that might explain why I don't need to add voltage until around 1150 or so.

Nice. I need to go back to testing undervolting mine. I tried it for a bit but gave up trying to find a sweet spot.

And, again, I'd think the -10mv is rounding to -12mv (or perhaps truncating to -.06mv, not sure) since the general consensus is that Fiji only be done in .06mv increments. This was what they were saying back when I was looking at OC info last year anyway.

You are right, seems to only do 0.06mV increments. I backed it down to -12mV.

It was actually all the way down to $275 with a paypal coupon, wish I would have seen that.. amazing value. Still enjoying mine a lot though 😉

I'm so mad I missed this. I was thinking of doing 1440p and totally forgot I could have used the -25 PayPal coupon too. If it comes in stock again I would grab it.

Although, it seems pretty long I wonder if it would fit in my case.

Card is super long. I have a Corsair Air 540 and it still seems huge.

Quieter than my already quiet undervolted Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP14 fans, however.

I already took out the middle hard drive bays in my phantom 410 when I had the 7970 in there. I think there was about 2-3 inches left. How tall is it?

This thread initially turned me onto this card a few weeks ago. After it initially sold out at $350, I set a price alert on the card, which paid off in spades, as I got it for $275 with the Paypal promotion. I'll "pay it forward" with some data sze5003 is looking for. I'm not sure you'll catch it in stock again at $300, but maybe you'll get lucky like I did!
