Saitek X36 and X45 HOTAS controllers...what's the black loop for ahead of the hand grip??

I'm talking about the big black plastic loop in front of the red trigger button ;)

Keeps your hand on the stick. Obviously this isn't an issue with a stationary gaming joystick, but in an effort to make the joystick seem more "authentic" it's there.

To keep your hand on the stick? I don't quite follow. Isn't that what the regular grip is for?? How would that front loop keep your hand on the stick if you are actually grasping the back "pistol" grip?

Or maybe I just need to take my medicine today :D

Some do, some don't. The bar keeps the hand from coming off the stick forward since on the thumb is the only finger keeping it on the stick in that direction. For a gaming stick it doesn't do anything.

Basicly, I think it's there to secure the "pinky" trigger which acts as a function multiplier. I have large hands and it doesn't get in the way.

The X45 is the one to get as it is easier to programme and has a better feel.
