Anyone tried the Saitek Action Pad?

It is a controller that is supposed to replace the keyboard in FPS games. The reviews have been very positive. I am retarded when I use the keyboard/mouse. I get stuck with the W(forward), A(strafeleft) and D(straferight) and can't seem to get to my backward button(S). My finger just doesn't want to move, so I get fragged. This controller has a 4-way hat that rests under your middle finger. It has 6 other programmable buttons for your other fingers and thumb. Looks really comfortable. Claims that you will increase your frag rate by 50%. Anyone tried one?
 
I have one of these and have started using it for Unreal. Its not too bad. Buildt more for games like Diablo and Mech Commander. But I do like it for Unreal. And with the arrangement of the buttons, the hat sits under your index finger which is much better. I however do not like using it as an 8 way hat. For me, it was worth the $20 I spent on the thing.
