It won't happen because of the money involved but I think every player involved should be banned for life. Thugs. Nothing more.

i would say a good 80% of football players are thugs.

they should be in trouble. but takeing the trophy away or canceling next season is silly.

a fine won't work either. only thing i can t hink of is no draft pics? really nto sure what to do. with how the NFL works there is a limited amount they can do.

if they started banning thugs from pro sports there would be no NFL or NBA, the NHL would also suffer

Don't need to place a bounty to want to hurt someone, this has been going on since the beginning, ask the oldtime players, Buddy Ryan, James Harrison and even the Giants this season.

Most fans seem to be ignorant of what really happens behind the scenes. Spygate? Shits done by all teams going all the way back to high school football. Wanting to injure players? Again, it's been happening since high school football.

And hand it to Peyton Manning. :D

Don't care who it goes to. It's VERY obvious they were hammering on Favre with high/low combos that weren't called but apologized for after the game. Had he been able to move, rather than having his ankle and leg murdered, he very likely would have had the 1st down and probably a TD.

You're right, it was obvious and I remember saying that the Saints were playing dirty against Favre in the NFC Championship and a few Saints fans jumped on my case. Now, there's no doubt.

Jail for all of them. Seriously. This is ridiculous. If Vick goes to jail for fighting dogs, these guys should go for intentionally trying to ruin someone's life/career.

What federal laws were broken? If you did this, a lot of the league would be in jail.

I am sorry that you are a "fan" of any of these prima-donnas but there is a relative new saying that goes "You get what you negotiate." These people take in more in one game than most "ordinary" people earn in 5 years or more.

Disgusting ... I am tempted to become either a socialist or communist ... whichever is worse.

sorry to break it to you, but contract negotiations are a part of every team of every sport.

IMHO intentionally injuring/trying to injure another playable should be a mandatory one game suspension during the regular season. Fuck fines, they are a joke. If it happens in the playoffs, you sit the rest of the playoffs.

Problem is, its hard to "find" intent unless a player goes all Suh on someone.

Any player or coach involved in this, even if they are no longer on the Saints should be sitting a minimum of 4-6 games next season. In the future any coach doing this should be banned from the NFL. Honestly Williams should be banned from the NFL over this.

That's exactly the problem...

what you're missing is that they would have gone after him the exact same way with out without a bounty.

Well, I'm gonna bet that Brees' sacks will go up next season, significantly.

And I also guess that the hit that Donte Whitner put on Piere Thomas was a long time coming.

Bountygate.

Hah! I hadn't seen that word used at all in any article I'd read before posting it. Now I've seen it numerous times.

Not like it's a stretch that's what it'd be called though.

Shame to have to watch a game with 75% shooting and quality passing until clean shot.:+)
