They absolutely do not. While paying players to injure other players is despicable, nothing happened on the field that disqualified them. Every infraction was fined. This bounty program is a wholly separate matter.

Guess you didn't see the part where they intentionally targeted Favre during the NFC game. He was a target of the bounty program.

Doesn't matter. Any infractions committed during the game were penalized appropriately. The bounty didn't give the Saints an unfair advantage. The game was played out within NFL rules. The only way to invalidate their win would be to prove that they were paying off refs to ignore fouls or the like.

Anybody who thinks this isn't pretty bad is fooling themselves.

They won't invalidate any wins, but I could see Williams being gone for an entire season, and I could see the Saints forfeiting mulitple #1s. There will also be a shitload of hefty fines.

Jonathon Vilma offered $10000 for Farve's head. That's an illegal bonus/salary cap circumvention any way you slice it.

Did you even watch that game? The officials apologized later for the no-calls. So many obvious illegal hits went uncalled, most notably the one where one of the Saints player went for the knees (remember, low his on the QB are illegal thanks to Brady).

Edit: looks like other people already said this. So I don't get it, are you saying that the non-calls were justified? Or just that, because of the fines issued, that justice was served?

I guess you can't change the past. Best I can say is that as a Vikings fan, I feel vindicated.

Looks like the Saints are in some shit now. Expectations are the NFL will come down on them harder than they did on the Pats.

Also Vilma offered 10k of his own money to any player who took out Favre

Was also reported that the Redskins were running the same type of program when Williams was coaching the defense there. Which for you Colt fans, is the year Peyton started having neck problems, after playing the Redskins.

This kind of shit should be dealt with by banning the Saints for an entire season.

I know they won't do that because of all the money involved.

It's always about profits over people.

IMHO intentionally injuring/trying to injure another playable should be a mandatory one game suspension during the regular season. Fuck fines,they are a joke. If it happens in the playoffs, you sit the rest of the playoffs.

Problem is, its hard to "find" intent unless a player goes all Suh on someone.

Any player or coach involved in this, even if they are no longer on the Saints should be sitting a minimum of 4-6 games next season. In the future any coach doing this should be banned from the NFL. Honestly Williams should be banned from the NFL over this.

We should take a queue out of European football or the NCAA on this one. Next season doesn't count for the Saints. Regardless of how they do, they won't make the playoffs.

From what I can tell Payton was in on out too. Emails that felon sent to him were found that had details of the bounty system, and he did nothing about it. Wtf... I always thought Sean was a class act. I'm sorely disappointed here.
