I was wondering if anyone knew of a notebook with the same quality..and specs for a cheaper price?

What I am looking for is something I can play games on. FPS specifically. I would like to be able to play Counter Strike..Call of Duty United Offensive.. First to Fight..Swat 4..World of Warcraft.. all at 1024x768.. And of course if it can do all of this than it should be able to do just about everything else under the sun I would want to do.

I do not want a 17"..they are too big. I was thinking of upgrading the Ram to 1G however. I do not want anything lower than a X700 or Geforce Go 6600. Battery life is also relatively important..No Pentium 4. Other than that I am open for suggestions.

What do you people think? Go for it? Or is there something better out there for the same price or less? Or is there something out there that matches those specs for less?

Thanks in advance

I saw the link you posted. How reputable is the company selling them? The specs are very impressive, I am definately going to keep an eye out for this model.

You won't find something cheaper than ~$1400 for all those specs. The Asus Z71V and Acer 8100 break $1800 IIRC

In regards to the PC2700 RAM: yes, it is disappointing to have Sonoma and no DDR2. But in all reality there is very little performance gain. DDR2 runs at higher speeds, but also higher latencies. In the next few weeks I will have an article out doing an in-depth 855vs915 comparison (DDR2 & Dual Channel included) and we'll have quantitative results then. Upside is that PC2700 SODIMM's are dirt cheap.

Drop in a 1GB stick for $120 and a 7200RPM HDD and you will be ready to rock! That looks like a super machine for the money, minus RAM & HDD. 256MB X700, nice!!

edit My bad, the Z71V hits $1800 pretty decently loaded. Not too shabby for a GF 6600 128MB. X700 256MB is still better IMO, but not bad either way
I priced it out at ProPortable
