If its going that slow, you did something wrong. if you open your log window, you probably see a ton of read errors. There is an option to check to ignore these errors. Unfortunatly i don't remember which one it is. Someone else here should be able to help you out there

You might check out this site about Clone CD and it's requirements. Note that certain CD-R drives are preferred for copying Safedisk2...Plextor PX-w2410A is noted for the ability to create perfect copies of Safedisk2, albiet slowly (an hour plus)...you want the ability to read sub channel info, DAO RAW data, and several other things.

http://www.elby.org/CloneCD/english/index.htm

Also check out www.gamecopyworld.com They have lots of info on copying disks.

clonecd works fine for me (plextor plexwriter 12/10/32A), use protCD profile, and check "Don't report Read Errors"

I had to create a back-up of Civ 3 lately (w/SD2 protection), and it turned out that in the newer versions of CloneCD, the "Amplify Weak Sectors" option was disabled for the US and GB. If you have one of those versions, it ought to alert you to that fact - just change your region in the Control Panel or do a Google search for "CloneAmp."

Then do what the others have said - enable Fast Error Skip, set Read Retry to something in the range of 3 to 5, and Error Correction to None.

Made about four coasters to get it just right - persevere. ;)

I'd set the retry to 0 and try that out. When I had it at 3 (or more) my Lite-On 24x took over 4 hours and it still didn't finish. Not only that, but it kept spinning up and down.

<< Doesn't clonecd only burn at 1x in demo mode? >>

You're thinking about CDRWin.
