Why would you do Paypal for a local transaction?
If it's not local, it's a no-go.
To avoid bringing a bunch of cash to a stranger off the internet.. .that's a good starting point. or if you're like me, you don't want to waste 2 hours driving in traffic to pick up an item when you could pay w\ paypal and have them ship it.
Believe it or not there are some legit people that use craigslist. If you don't know how to use paypal and you don't know what a fake paypal email looks like, just use google and find examples.
paypal doesn't hold payments until items are recieved, obviously.

paypal is alot safer than cash.
There's just so much spam on craigslist that people are used to paypal meaning that you're going to send them a phishing message or a spoofed paypal email.
I wouldn't trust people who don't have paypal to be honest. All paypal transactions I've done on craigslist have been 100% legit.
