Safe temperature?

I just finished playing CS:S with my new rig, and looked at my CPU temp.. 50 C

So I ask, whats a safe temperature/what temperature should I avoid exceeding?

Thats an acceptable temp. Don't know what CPU you're running, but you should only worry it it is northwards of 60C

As a followup here. What is a safe temperature for a P4? I've overclocked my 2.6ghz to 3ghz right now with no additional cooling. According to MBM5, the cpu is at 31C. How hot is too hot for a P4 so I know when to stop if I try to bump up the speed a little more?

got a 2.53 northwood running 32-33 idle, 51 load after CS:S. replaced the stock HSF with one that looks..well..kinda alot like it. some unknown brand. ohwell as long as it doesnt crash.

I think it's a Prescott. And stock HSF. It's at 31C with just surfing. I'll try some gaming and see how hot it gets.

But my question still is, what should I be worried about with regards to temperature?
