Sadly, Winter is coming

I only like being inside in winter, watching all the snow come down. Glad I don't have to commute in it anymore.

The only things I really hate about summer are mowing the lawn (only because my lawn is a pain in the ass) and bugs. Fucking horse flies attack me constantly while I'm outside so I don't even want to be there...but I think they're thinning out a bit.

I wouldn't mind winter if it didn't snow. I hate driving in it. Also I hate paying for my heat. Otherwise I prefer the cold weather. That's why I love fall, the best season of all.

I like winter, it breaks up the heat of summer. That said, I wish winter only lasted about three weeks. A couple of weeks of cooler temps, a few days of snow just for something different, and then right back to summer would do me just fine.

having 4 seasons is best... makes you want the next one much more. Loved the summer, but can't wait till snow comes.

I don't want another repeat of this:

Our 106 degree heat says otherwise.

This has probably been the worst summer ever. Only went wakeboarding once, only went fishing once, and still haven't floated any rivers. Oh and my truck's A/C has been crapping out on me and our insulation in our house needs replacing. It was 85 in our house yesterday with the A/C going all day.

GTFO Summer!

its been unbearably hot here lately. can't wait until it gets cooler and then i can actually do stuff outside without being drenched in sweat.

Winter for me means driving up to Tahoe and doing some skiing/snowboarding/gambling, so I'm looking forward to it 🙂

"Oh, my sweet summer child," Old Nan said quietly, "what do you know of fear?
Fear is for the winter, my little lord, when the snows fall a hundred feet
deep and the ice wind comes howling out of the north. Fear is for the long
night, when the sun hides its face for years at a time, and little children
are born and live and die all in darkness while the direwolves grow gaunt and
hungry, and the white walkers move through the woods"

Seems summer went by so fast, but it always does. Noticed a bunch of leaves on the ground today outside of work. The weather has been declining too. Though I'm sure we still have some hot days ahead of us.

So with that said, there are 136 days until Christmas!

Where the hell are you????? Summer is just getting ramped up here in America's Wang. Its 94F, with a 78F dewpoint today. It doesn't get below 80F at night anymore.

Walking the dog for 10 minutes at 9pm yields a completely soaked shirt and wife beater + drenched forehead. It is intolerably hot.

It doesn't cool off (that is get under 80F high and 70F lows) until sometime in October, and November still has 80F days some years.

Oh man, that's so awesome. I hope that happens here. 🙂

LOL

no, it wasn't.

That was Tuesday Dec 7 2010. It started on Monday and the buses were being pulled off the road at 6:00 PM due to the snow. On Tuesday at noon, the Mayor made a TV/radio/internet announcement to declare a state of emergency and shut our city down at 3:00 PM. People were ordered off the streets to allow snow-crews to deal with the mess. The order stood for Wednesday, too. The lake effect squalls stopped late Wednesday afternoon with a total accumulation of 100cm or so of snow.

After a few weeks straight of 100+ Degree Fahrenheit weather and no rain here in North Texas, I'm ready cooler weather. It especially sucks when your car's AC doesn't work. However, I do like running in this weather as it really pushes your body's ability to cope with the heat. Jump into the fire baby.

SNOW is not awesome. Not when you have drive in it. Maybe when you were a kid it was but it's not for me anymore.

Well I live in a pussy city, so it would be a state of emergency after about an inch of the white stuff. I'd love to get a deluge of snow one of these winters, enough to shut the city down, but I doubt it's going to happen any day soon. I really should move to a place that gets more snow.

Sucks for all you people sweltering in the heat. Around here we usually have 10+ days per year of 100+ degrees. This year we've had none and there are only 4 days between now and the end of September where the record high is 100+.

lol, move to Alabama, the threat of snow shuts the city down....

I do a lot of driving for my job so snow is my arch enemy. Especially last year when all the vehicles at work had old tires on them. I'm hoping to get out of that job soon.

I like being indoors in the winter. I don't sleep well if I get too warm so summer can suck because of that. Plus it gives me a chance to catch up on movies and gaming. Not to mention Christmas! Even as an atheist, it's still my favorite time of year. I never miss the old school TV specials, getting and giving gifts, spending time with friends and family, decorating my house. Mind you, I'll still take the warmer months over the cold as long it's not humid. I hate suiting up for battle just to leave the house.
