That you've been to France has zero bearing on this thread. It is in fact a moot point.[/quote]

Every country has sleezeballs, just some have more than others.

Good point. It would seem that America has a slightly higher percentage than France.

How is it moot relative to this comment?

When they are having a discussion about what country has more sleaze balls, you'd want someone w/ some sort of working knowledge; something riprorin has.
though it's all just personal experence.

I beg you to tell me how 15 visits and one brief longer stay would allow you to properly formulate criteria for a "sleazeball." And then in turn tell me how you noticed the percent was higher. Did you take notes or something? Damn Catholics...

This guy defends all spectrums of evil people, arab terrorists, war criminals, neo-nazis, nazis. He is a communist to boot.

I'M NOT CATHOLIC. :D

It's all based on the well known sleaze index based on multi-variate analysis done by a Harvyard mathematician.

Surely you've heard about it?

I don't have to take notes, with my photographic memory and superior intelect and all. ;)

You want me to admit that I'm a Catholic to someone from Alabama. Are you nuts? ;) Being half Eye-talian is probably bad enough.

Not like they'd bring up the mass murders or anything.

Exactly, btw that just proves a good faith in capitalism: what would give more publicity then defending Saddam

Good faith in capitalism ? Don't you mean democracy ? Capitalism is a economic philosophy not a political one. You can have dictatorships or Theocracies along with capitalism have it go hand in hand.

We are holding him

1. So he doesnt escape.
2. So the Iraqis dont kill him before he gets a trial.

A panel of Iraqi "judges" will be judging him. The new Iraqi govt, whenever it gets in place, will be the prosecutors.

The charges? The slaughtering of the Kurds, the shiites in the south and political dissidents.

The US is going this route because Milosivics trial will have lasted over 5 years once it concludes sometime next year, and right now its not a sure thing hes going to be convicted of any of the major charges lodged against him.

Hilarious. Most of my family is Catholic. Try again? I just don't know why you won't admit it.

The French dare not to support the US's foreign policies even if they are ill conceived, North American centric, or contrary to France's best interests.

You know what's interersting about this? Saddam hasn't even been charged with any crimes yet. I heard this on the news radio the other day. I got a feeling this guy is going to beat the rap.

Actually, there will be 50 prosecutors, including those from the FBI and stuff. Sheck the story at cnn for a more comprehensive list.

I would agree except that if he did I would lose all faith in the world. So I choose to believe he will be tried, convicted, and either kept for his knowledge (although i don't think the trade-off is worth it) or executed.

I've been to France about a 15 times and have probably spent about 6 months there over the last 10 -12 years.

How much time have you spent there?

I have been to France at least twice as much as you and spent a lot more time than you have spent there. What's your point? Are you trying to get some attention to your idiotic, french bashing, pointless thread?

This is Politics & News. The fact that that a Frenchman will be representing Saddam is news, is it not?

Ok, let me finish this, as an unbiased expert -they are both equally bad. I'm English, so equally biased against the French (who are all smelly winos) and the Americans (who are all fat retards) ;) And I've lived in both France and the US for a year. Case closed.

and neither are as bad as urban italian men, anyway...

I'm pretty sure he meant Capitalism...He was talking about publicity...Lawyers charge money; (in)famous ones charge even more.
