He's saying jihad... jihad.... and "el bottle." I guess he wants a drink. I'm still waiting for the bomb to drop on him.

He'd like to recognize some of his military heros.
Like Commander Ben Dover for running when seeing the American troops. 😛

Hahah he just said. Patience brothers victory is eminent. He must realize that American victory is eminent. 😛

That or he's got some nasty trick up his sleeve. 🙁

watching msnbc, and the translation seems to be ahead of the speech.
Like the translator says some names, and then 5 seconds later you hear Saddam say them.
Something is fishy.

no, its just that he says the same thing over and over again, the cnn translator is speaking after him

ahh.. its over.

from what i could make out:

a lot of 'God is great'

a lot of 'god willing'

a lot of references to 'our right,' and 'our iraqi freedom fighters'

man is he trying to galvanize the Islamic world or what? He's not even religious!

STill nothing said that specifically relates to exact, precise .. current events..

If you were Saddam wouldn't you tell your people that the Evil Americans attmpted to assassinate him but they were unsucessful??

You think that wouldn't be pre-recorded anyways?

Definitely not live, there is no reason to even think this was taped recently, let alone live. If anything this gives more weight to the theory that Saddam is either dead, or injured.

How can you say that when Saddam mentioned Umm Qasr in his speech?? 😕

I missed the Umm Qasr reference, what exactly did he say?

It was something about the resistance in Umm Qasr. Right after he went on to mention the "military heros".

Did any of those commandeers that he mentioned surrender? I still ain't 100% convinced that he is still alive, but leaning toward it. I missed the Umm Qasr in his speech but seen that Arabic chick mention it. Why doesn't CNN get a better translator that can speak english.

I missed that 🙂

BUT, He knows which areas he planned to defend with all the strenght of his military.. Isn't that the place where his REpublican Guard troops FORCED civilians to fight and they the RGs also dressed in civilian clothes and shot at the Americans?

The people who speak both English and (Iraqi) Arabic fluently are all hired by the US government most likely 😛

Edit: And the BBC and Al-Jazeera have the rest of them.

I stayed up to watch this....and almost fell asleep listening to the translators. Why are they so sucky and monotonous? Seriously....bah.

what happened finally?

Still inconclusive, but from what I understand, one of the commanders he was congratulating had surrended to coalition forces some time ago.
