...according to a German public TV network.

"The ZDF public television network in Germany, working with a coroner, claims that after a scientific study of 450 photographs of Saddam Hussein in Iraq, they believe there are at least three doubles posing as the Iraqi president. The photographs and film clips of Saddam were processed with facial recognition -- and they claim the men said to be him were lookalikes."

A "doppelgänger" is often seen in video of public appearances in which he does not speak. 'Most notable' is a difference in the ears and forehead.

Is anybody really surprised?!

I think the same thing when I walk into a room full of white guys...they must all be related

Does anybody else think that Saddam Hussein looks like a Mexican grandfather? Can't you just picture him on some hacienda out in Mexico with a cerveza in one hand and a Cuban in the other? I don't know why.... I think it's the moustache that really gets me. He almost seems like a lovable old guy if you just look at his photos.

yes, I know I'm talking about a ruthless killer. I'm just talking about the way he looks.

George W. Bush also has three body-doubles:

Dumb, Dumber, Dumbest ;)

j/k

Of course every dictator must have a couple of body-doubles around for protection.

If you look back at WWII lots of Hitler's doubles were found in Berlin area (even in the ReichTag).

It's another point for those who wish to compare Saddam Husein to Adolf Hitler.

There was something about this on NPR today. Whoever did the analysis said that Saddam has not been seen on TV since 1998 until a few weeks ago, and there is some doubt he has been seen in public at all for quite a while.

Red, you are more correct than you apparently knew.
"I don't know but when I see pictures of him and all his generals they all look like they could be related. "

After Saddam
".....
But experts say Saddam?s power ? and security ? are firmly rooted not just in extreme repression, but also by an extensive family and tribal network, which holds positions of power throughout the Iraqi government, including the various military and intelligence organizations. And the son Qusay seems well positioned and well practiced to take his father?s place as the supreme authoritarian power within that hierarchy.

Considering the culture of the Middle East, it would be suprising if family wasn't in charge. As for the character of the little tyke, they say the apple never falls far from the tree.
