Sad news: my BBQ died today

My poor, abused BBQ finally died today. It performed flawlessly for 3 years but has finally died. Of course it had a hard life before I got it. You see the former owners of the house left it when they moved. They did hook it up to the natural gas line here, though.

Now I am looking for replacement BBQ set up for natural gas. I don't need anything crazy either. I am thinking of this one Home Depot link and manufacturer's link.

fits my budget and has the features that I like, especially the rotisserie. 😀

so there will be no BBQ'ing here for the next few days. 🙁

If you can't find what you like, I'll tell you that Home Depot has a special order catalog where you can order many versions of their gas grills in the form of natural gas. Most associates won't be aware of this, but there is a decent list of grills that you can order that can be hooked up to natural gas (versions of propane grills that can be hooked up to NG).

I won't be able to go out looking until Thursday or Friday.

Those links are for broilers, not for barbecues.

I really don't get the point of barbecuing without using real coal, MAYBE with briquettes but that's just half ok.

You need a real barbecue that fits a lot of coal, you need one with a lid, you need to close the valve when it gets hot.

THAT is how you barbecue something.

If you just want to broil it, put it in a pot on the stove with some butter and let it sit until it's dry enough for you to eat.

I am not into charcoal BBQ'ing. Natural gas gives me what I need. Fast and efficient.

webers are very expensive here. Cheapest one I saw was $499.

fwiw, I can't remember the exact model name but for your price range, Lowe's carries the top rated Consumer Reports grill for $399.

$339 every three or four years or $499 once?
once I buy it, it will last a long time.

The last one I bought lasted nearly 20 years.

:Q BAN!

It must be a regional thing, but BBQ is what you eat. You make it on a grill or a smoker.

That grill doesn't come with a rotisserie, but it does have a rotisserie burner. You'll have to go out and buy the rotisserie separately.

EZ Que has one that'll do 50 lbs.

You'll have to get a conversion kit to NG, but they aren't that much more....

This is awesome because of the searing grill and oven. In the summer, I don't like using my oven in the house simply because of how much heat it produces....this would allow you to bake some texas-style cornbread in a cast-iron skillet while grilling up some ribeyes.

I'm not sure if my BBQ has a problem or if I got a faulty propane tank. I just put a new refill in the other day and when I went to use it a day later the tank was empty and I shut the valve off and the burners off the previous time I used it. I'm hesitant to go and get another refill as I would hate to waste the money on one if it is the BBQ.

you sure the tank was empty? If you open the valve too quickly, the saftey kicks in and stops the flow. I was having all sorts of problems until I figured that out.

QFT!
Bought a natural gas Weber grill nine years ago and it's still going strong. Only had to replace the "flavorizer" bars with some extra duty copycat versions from Ebay but other than that, just annual cleaning. Still burns hot and even as it did the day I bought it. Before that I went thru 2 other grills from Home Depot that just rust out and literally falls apart after 2-3 years out in the weather. Could've put that toward the cost of a nicer Weber. The Weber is just solidly built and I use it at least 3-4 times a week.

Get a traeger pellet grill to replace it. The only one worth buying

I watched the video on their site. Since Terry Bradshaw is their shill, I will never buy one of their products.

Yep, it was noticeably lighter
