You know what? I'd be willing to cut Westbrook, sign Tomlinson, and let him back up McCoy. There is gas left in that tank.

anyway, he was an amazing back. it feels kinda cool to have witnessed his achievements as part of my home team. i cna't wait to see him go to the hall.

knew this day was coming but still sucks to see him go. ill never forget being there at jack murphy stadium when he got the single-season rushing td record agaist denver.

Yep. Shortest careers are running backs. I think it's rare for one to go more than 10 seasons. Could be wrong though.

There's pretty much a wall RB's hit at 30. Almost every one of them start going downhill at that point. But instead of years, I think a better statistic is how many touches they average per season. If you have a platoon style running game where you split carries you'll get more years out of a RB. If they are the primary option and carrying the rock 300+ times a year they are going to be ground up into hamburger in 3-5 seasons.

O'Neal? You mean Lorenzo Neal. The guy was a beast, but they let him go because he suffered a devastating injury and was never the same. And neither was the Charger's running game.
