<< Dave you are a engineer but for marketing you are a looser!
there is no need to use t&l there is a need to support t&l
simply by the biggest reason there can be:

THE PEOPLE DONT BUY ANYMORE CARDS WITHOUT T&L!

Come on Hardware, give it up!!

But that´s the thing, IT IS NOT AN OBJECTIVE QUESTION! Although you say it is, it really is a disgquised way of saying "Nvidia´s T&L isn´t really useful, and 3dfx is just as good without it". I know you will deny this, but I´ve read your posts before and I know that there´s just as much truth in my statement as there is in yours.

I wasn't aware that there was such thing as a question that wasn't objective.. An answer, sure.. but a question is a question any which way you put it.

Of course a question can be non objective depending on your motive for asking the question in the first place.

My motive is "why is one developer saying this, another saying this and me seeing this?"

I think I made that pretty clear.. I mean even the topic of this thread is that I find it odd.

Yep, and that´s where we don´t agree. :) I think you had another motive aswell like I´ve said in my previous posts.

Subjective or objective, the question still hasn't been answered.

If the artist at Shiny claims that T&L makes a big difference, why isn't it obvious to the casual observer? Somebody isn't truthful, either the T&L evangelists or Shiny employees.

Well if that is the case, we see a few things here:

1) You are EXTREMELY defensive of T&L, or more specifically of NVIDIA. So whenever it is brought up, you have to start attacking
2) You have no idea what you are talking about
3) You hate 3dfx and everything that has to do with it
4) You are completely non-objective

I'll let you pick from these....

Lets assume the V5500 (vsa100)is equal the gts (geforce2)
on a technical point of view this can be true (90% of games)

but the world isnt technical

you have to sell your stuff!
the average user/buyer is looking for

fast card
agp(x4)
(t&l)
32mb
tv out
cheap price
dvd features

do you think the v5500 will match?

right now our largest supermarket is releasing thousands of PIII-900 PCs with a

.
.
Geforce2 MX 32MB with TV-out

We all agree (not dave) that that is way better then the same priced? V4500!

For each business the most important thing is to sell cards to get money for development atc

In this way 3dfx blows in these days

Oh my god, you actually listed all the things that describe your relationship to 3dfx :D Honestly I don´t give a flying f*ck about neither 3dfx or Nvidia, I like them both. What I dislike is people who slam the other company when they can´t back there arguments at all. And who has the biggest chance of being the most subjective, a 3dfx employee or a normal computer user? I think you can figure that one out for yourself. Extremly defensive, let´s see, I seem to remember that it´s you who always starts to whine and cry about "don´t bitch at me, you´re making me angry, I don´t like it!". I don´t wanna bitch (as you say) anymore cause like I´ve said we disagree, and you´re not gonna change your opinon and neither will I.

Well geez, who is the one attacking somebody else for presenting a question... if it was such a big deal, perhaps you could explain the answer. If not, shut up.

The point is that it wasn´t an objective question, and that is my point, and that is why I made my post in the first place. You know it, get over it.

Well unless you can provide an anwer about my "un-objective question" you've got no business posting here. I wasn't trying to turn it into a T&L good/bad thing, but I could easily if I wanted to and I'm half tempted to just to shut you up.. but I won't.

You´re starting to sound like a broken record. And I don´t have the answer to your supposed objective question, but that wasn´t why I posted here in the first place, and that´s not the point. If you re-read the posts you might understand what I´m saying, I don´t want to repeat myself one more time.

I think it is more of a matter that you can't answer it.. however, I think we've pretty well covered the bases already. We've looked into what the counts are, why the person who saw the two probably noticed a difference and why different counts can typically look similar. So we really don't need your input anyway. The purpose of this dicussion was to answer the question and for the most part I think we did.

WE don´t need your input? Who are we? You and your imaginary friends? I´ll post whenever I want wherever I want and if you´re acting like an immature a$$/3dfx zombie/total loser I´ll let you know.
