Link.

The Games for Windows version will release on November 11, 2008 in North America, and will ship on February 17, 2009 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system from Sony.

Btw I believe UK release date is 7th November(still to be confirmed, but all the game websites in UK are showing the 7th Nov).

I played the demo of sacred 2. They seriously need a bloody tutorial for it.

I tried playing the original and couldn't really get into it, it just seemed bad. The reviews are generally mediocre but there are fans who say its amazing. I can't say I'm too excited about Sacred 2.

You guys are lucky, us europeans are the guinea pigs, it has bugs, lots of them, and it has patches, and it fixes a lot of bugs, but not all. Performance imo is subpar, expect a review from me in roughly a week :)

I'll probably pick it up around xmas time, should be a patch or two by then.

The first Sacred was ok in my books.

As to SecuROM,Tages etc well if you're a PC gamer you get use to having some sort of copy protection on legal games, can't say I have had any problems so far with any SecuROM/Tages etc...

Don't be upset, as soon as you uninstall the game you get your activation back. The 2 activation limit has something to do with playing over LAN if I'm not mistaken ... So it's limitless as long as you uninstall it ?

I got bored of the first one. It actually seemed very polished, but it just lacked something that Diablo and even Titan Quest had.

No, it's not just SecuROM, the game has TWO activations. Two. 1+1. Bioshock had three at launch and people ran into trouble immediately. 2k games' forums flew into a frenzy and they upped the limits to 5 within a week of launch, yet Sacred 2's been out for a bit overseas and still has the two activation limit.

And if you somehow lose an activation, you have to contact SecuROM, who will *maybe* grant you one extra activation if they deem the circumstances warrant it, but after that they say use the deactivator program or you're SOL. I dunno about you, but I've had my fair share of HD failures and power outages.

I remember Bioshock that terrible game, only problem I had was their server was overloaded due to them(they underestimated the demand)too many people trying to activate online (took me 3 hours).

I see they have a hotfix patch out already.

For the curious, I would not compare Sacred 2 to Sacred 1. Sacred 1 was a very amateur game that needed a lot of work. Sacred 2 reminds me of Titan Quest.

The thing is I have three computers I regularly game on. HTPC, main PC, and laptop. I also like to sneak in some gaming on my work comp when I'm there by myself  and having to uninstall / reinstall just to play the game on one of the other comps is just too much to deal with. I really enjoyed playing the demo if Sacred 2, but this DRM is too much for me to swallow.

Well, to be completely honest, I'm not sure if Sacred 2 is worth spending $50 on. It has a lot of bugs, performance is subpar if you ask me, and the story ain't all that good. Just wait for my review ;)

One thing I have learned is you can't judge a game unless you've played it yourself, look at Bioshock that got great reviews but to me it was crap(after playing from start to finish),anyway I'll pick up Sacred 2 around xmas time (should be another patch by then).

Bugs can be fixed with time, this is one downside of buying a new game right at release.

I'm sure most game companies release their new games with some known bugs etc.. but due to deadlines etc worry about fixing them later.

I've actually been looking forward to this one. I bought Sacred Gold (the one with all the expansion packs), and really enjoyed it. I must have played that game for 100 hours or more, it was a really addicting game.

Unfortunately, SecuROM is the deal breaker for me. It's not so much the install limits, since you can revoke them or whatever (how generous..). It's the fact that the more SecuROM games I install on my machine, the more of a hassle it's going to be when I upgrade stuff. Graphics cards, hard drives, CPU's, etc.. I upgrade all of those at least once a year, not including new machine builds. Lets say I have 10 SecuROM "protected" games installed on my machine at some point. That means before I install my new graphics card I have to remember which games those were, then revoke all the installs before I install the card. That's just utter nonsense IMO. No game, no matter how great it might be, is worth that hassle.
