Dam I luv your computer. It must of cost a ****** load. excuse my language. Is there a higher than operton 175? I want to build or have someone build me a new one but Cant' decide on x2 or operton. Since reading your thread I kinda want the operton. I mean you said it goes through the hardest test. Do you know of any bench mark tests?😕

Regarding the opertons I see they are the 940 socket. Does that mean it will be compatiable with the new m2 socket coming out this year? I read that the new m2 socket won't be compatible with the 939's.😕

i'm pretty sure the Opterons mentioned in this thread are all socket 939.

IIRC the new socket AM2 won't be compatible with socket 940s.

The older opterons are socket 940. The new ones like the dual cores described here are 939's as One43637 just said. The old opteron 940's as with any of the current socket 940 chips and boards out now will not be compatible with the new socket M2 boards coming out. The new boards are supposed to be completely different, supposedly supporting things like DDR2 memory etc.
