S3 Viking fell off the carrier USS Constellation

Just heard it on CNN tonight.

Crew ejected.

Apparently the water could be shallow enough to recover the plane.

It was on MSNBC awhile ago.

Apparently it caught the wire but the brakes on the wire failed and the plane continued on and over the edge. The crew ejected (two I believe) and were quickly picked up by the helo rescue crew.

This is one reason carriers have the slanted decks for landing.
