darn didnt u just get this car?

Yeah I think I had it for like around 2 months or so.

Once everything is settled with the insurance company I'll likely get a replacement convertible. Leaning towards C5 Vette.

No pics of the wrecked car yet. I'm looking forward to seeing the pics myself.

Not to sound like a dick, it sounds like the last thing you need is something with more power. Get a used Miata and learn the niceties of a light RWD vehicle first.

I'd have to agree. If you're going to get a vette at least take a class first. Lots of s2000s are wrecked because boy racers get them and don't know ****** about RWD.

S2000 is a 2 seat convertible. I give it a crash testing rating of 5/5.

while tokyo drift was a somewhat retarded movie, it was probably the best fast and the furious. and i gotta say, i was surprised that the super blazing chick didn't kiss the main dude at all in the movie.

overall, i was pleasantly surprised by the movie.

(this was in response to the Drift King comment some posts up)

That's too bad. Of course thankfully nobody was hurt.

Really though - take a class. It takes knowledge, practice and experience to understand your car.

Be careful.

Hell man, do what I did (not by choice) and get an S10 and take it down backroads. Light ass rear end and if you kill it, rebuild! I learned SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much in how to drive from that truck. I'm a fairly good drifter now, but I never do it anymore. I never have liked ricers, and my trailblazer is kinda scary, hehe.

Thanks for the kind words. It was a miracle that neither of us died.

You braked in a corner, didn't you?

either that or you seriously unweighted the rear and stomped on it.

Your situation sucks, but you're just asking for big trouble by stepping up to a corvette when you can't even begin to handle an S2000.

BTW, I wasn't the driver when it crashed. My brother-in-law lost control of the car on a straight portion of the road about 30 seconds after taking the wheel from me.
So he was actually in the drivers seat? Or did he just physically take the wheel while you were driving?

Please tell your mom to post pics of your wrecked vette when you drive off the cliff.

I could handle S2000 just fine. I had a Boxster before and two cars handle pretty similar and of course great on curves.

He was in the drivers seat. He was dizzy from all the sharp curves we were taking and wanted to drive. So I let him drive. About 30 seconds later we crashed. My not so bright brother-in-law floored the car as soon as he took control and proceeded to hit triple digits. When I told him he should slow down since curves were coming up, he proceeded to break too hard and fishtailed and crashed. I'm very thankful we didn't flip and that we didn't suffer any major injuries.

yeah sell the parts, I'm sure someone wants to swap the engine and transmission in their civic or integra, and maybe the seats as well.
and maybe it's the pic, the car doesn't look shiny. you need to wax your car.

That's great, at least he's not blood related.

Iono if it was too smart to let a dizzy man drive.

I also question the wisdom of letting a man who's dizzy drive a fast car on a canyon road, straightaway or not.

That's just me though.

Mine. Car was insured through me. He's here visiting from another country. This was the first sports car he's ever driven.

I'm not really angry with him. He's young, and he learned a great deal from this experience. I don't care about the car. I was little ticked that he put both of our lives in danger by pulling a stunt like that.

Insurance was more than fair with the settlement offer and now I've some decision to make as to what car to get or just wait.

I still have my CBR600 F4 as my toy. He wanted to ride it. Never ridden a motocycle either. Told him he's not getting anywhere near it. :D
