I have satellite tv and the receiver has a s-video outlet and so does my big screen tv, would there be a improvement in image quality if I hooked them up thru s-video? what kind of cable do I need and where could I get it?

seeing a diference depends on your eyes, but to connect your TV and satelite using s-video you use a :Q S-video cable which you can get at any BB, radioshack, etc

Yes, there would be a huge improvement.

You need a S-VIDEO cable 😕

Get it from anywhere that sell audio/video stuff.

You'll see an improvement in the color, for sure, resolution....ehhh...

Anyway, yeah, as the others have posted, get an S-Video cable (avoid Monster Cable brand....way overpriced)

Also, if you have a DVD player, either buy or at least rent a copy of Avia and use it to calibrate the settings on your TV.

You need to run S-video when ever possible!!! Especially as it pertains to larger screens. To say you would see an improvement in image quality would be an understatement to say the least. Try any run of the mill S-video cable (less than 15 bucks), then compare to a higher quality cable (less than 100 bucks) and make your own decision.

i think the only svideo connection i have is xbox-to-tv...dvd is component and all audio is optical 🙂
