I agree...the lighting that this engine produces looks truely spectacular, even in DX 9.

I have finally made my way to Pripyat.....man....I don't want this game to end. 😀

Anyone got this weird stuttering issue?

It only happens when I run (which is like alot, I like the energy drink 😉 ). Everything is smooth, then it stutters, feels different from a slowdown and makes the game almost unplayable; makes you feel sick...

i7 875 and hd5850 @1680x1050. seems pretty unrelated to settings, eg. turning them down has 0 effect (no AA, all sliders below half, tesselation off, tried with and witouth vsync).
If googled but found no conclusive answer. Only reason I can think of is hdd (WD green). Will move it to my ssd i guess and hope this solves the problem.

Other ideas?

nope, installing on ssd has no effect. Load times do seem a bit faster but still takes pretty long. stuttering, the same. annoying...

Just started playing COP this week after finishing Clear Sky. 🙂 After COP will go back to SOC and play Complete and other mods. I played all versions vanilla.

Only have a few hours into COP, but I'm getting pissed because I have a few artifacts, but none that reduce rad! Grrr....

Known issue with the engine that Stalker runs on. You will get a stutter when moving (faster makes it more apparent) due to stuff being loaded by the game's engine. This will happen even on high end system with SSD.

Every game engine has a least 1 flaw, for this one it be stuttering.

but some people claim the don't have it. I reduced visibility, res at 13x7 turned of like all other apps and it didnt change a thing. I feel sick after like 30 min of playing. omg...nice game but that basically kills it.

also I had other annoying issues, like once an emission in Zaton and I had to flee to the merceneries camp. One of them was blocking the door in a way it was impossible to open it. He was constantly running against it, half in the room half outside...
i had to shoot him to get in which meant all like other 10 of them attacked me too. lol takes about 0.5 sec till you die when so many shoot at you. had to try probably 10 times till i got lucky.

Also other occurences of enemies shooting thorugh doors body half inside half out. I mean such glitches have been common but one would think we have come so far to be able to avoid them. Yeah games look better than Doom 1 but seriously, it's still very, very far from looking even close "real".

end of rant
