The "Complete" mod series for the STALKER games are mainly overhaul mods; i.e. graphics and bug fixes, unofficial patches, etc. They don't really change the game and how it's played, just make it look/work better. The STALKER: SOC complete mod is amazing and I wouldn't play without it.

Maybe the best deal so far on COP. Only the downloadable "loyalty" version has been cheaper. Recommend vanilla COP first run, with no more than an graphical enhancement mod, if that.

Keep coming back to the Russian SOC mods. After playing Oblivion Lost, LURK, Complete, ZRP etc., these mods amazed me: Narodnaya Solyanka, New Level Changer 5 (now NLC 6), Lost World Requital, & Old Story Line. Outside the Russian scene SMP 2.5 is due out of closed beta very soon, with a crazy amount of new weapons to play with, and Priboi just got some updates from another modder.

For SoC, I would suggest Oblivion Lost, but beware, it changes some of the content.

Seconded, this is good advice. It makes the game look amazing and removes some of the wrinkles from vanilla play - you would be a fool to play the game without this upgrade, especially if you want to experience the game "as intended" without radical mods.

sufficiently, especially < 1080p... but it does like a quad, and certainly likes all the gpu you can throw at it...
