It has my vote.

I am watching the DVD right now. I have seen it maybe 100 times, gets better every time.

Is that the Metallica Symphony?

That was a good show. I actually went to the one in NY @ the garden and it was OK (Metallica's live sound is the worst out of the many bands I've seen live)

My favorite album has to be Metallica's Master Of Puppets.

Favorite DVD Concert.... Iron Maiden's Rock In Rio!

Best rock album ever? Um, no. No way. I'm not sure what I'd put up on such a pedestal, but not S&M. Not even close.

I'd say not even close also.

It is amazing... but it has an unfair advantage, because it is essentially a compilation/greatest hits album.

I agree with theprodigalrebel that Ten is up there.

Exile on Main Street
Dark Side of the Moon
Sgt Pepper
London Calling
Who's Next
Led Zep IV

Any of those has the credentials to be discussed among the greatest ever rock albums depending on taste. But Metallica? ROFLMAO!!!!

Hmmm. I'd say thats a little closer.

I think we should first establish the definition of "rock".

I mean Tony Iommi coined the phrase "heavy metal" when asking what type of music Sabbath was. Elvis was the king of "rock and roll".

We could have classes

Rock and Roll
Rock
Metal
Heavy Metal
Hair Metal........................
