Thanks hb!

Has IBM decided to get serious? Overyone knows that they could rule SETI IF they wanted to. Really wonder if they noticed us? :)

Thanks, HB :)

Output-wise, not such a bad day, but when we lose nearly 5000 to IBM (what the heck?!?) and 2000 to DSLR, it's not so great...

My father works for IBM, maybe I can get him to change the login e-mail on some of the machines. :)

Nice output :) ,but we got spanked today!:Q

Btw can someone tell me how long it will take for us to close the gap on IBM to 60,000 WU's? (from say the last months output)

????WTF?????

Where'd IBM get all that stuff? I've only been around for a week, but I've never seen them do that kind of output! They get some new folks or are they just caching lots of wu's?

IBM probably got a new member with a few thousand work units. Don't worry, tomorrow things should be closer to normal (hopefully). In the meantime, all we can do is crank out more work units and assimilate! :D

Thanks, HB! :)

Thanks! :)

Assim:

Assuming a 2500 WU/day gain on them (4000-1500), it will take 16 days to get within 60000 WU. So just after Christmas. :)

Last week I was talking to my gf, who works for IBM, about installing Seti on a couple of lab systems she has under her wing. I showed her some of the current stats, and she noticed the IBM Team......

To make a long story short, I convinced her to install using my email. However, she did talk to a few of her co-workers about the project.

I sure hope I haven't accidentally woken up the dragon!!! :Q:eek::Q

Btw, since I brought it up, she's made a lot of jokes about "sleeping with the enemy" ;)

A while ago I managed to get the super-computer power of a testing lab turned to my benefit. I was doing over 600 WU a day, no sweat. If a company like IBM decided to do SETI, or even a group in the right area decided to do SETI, they would crush anyone except for other large companies. Note the power of our team. We're outproducing many large companies because we're dedicated individuals.

dasm ibm...

note that most large companies don't have any sort of a company-wide effort to show off how much spare computing time they have. intel might in the UD thing, seeing as how they're a partner, and sun for seti, as they are a partner. most other companies that have a large presence do so because of a few lab managers. even those lab managers don't always feel obliged to work under their company's name, as we see with our own membership and other well-knowns such as cobraice. so any particular gains made by ibm above us are not the stirrings of a sleeping giant.
