What a crappy day. Not only Monday but a 7K+ member leaves as well. If I remember correctly he's left and rejoined before. Maybe a name change? Maybe he'll return? Hope so...

Thanks Hellburner!

2nd - Thanks HB!

I passed Tom a week, or so, ago and Smash flew past him just before that. At the level where he was, progress was very slow going due to the wide gap between members. Then he started losing ground, rather than gaining. So, I suspect he found the TeAm more competitive than he expected, got discouraged and left. Just speculation.

Hi Sisyfos ,long time no see
A member will change his name & his WU's go ,but for some reason (I dunno why)his new name does not show up for a day or so.That makes it look like the member has left

BTW has your team recovered form the heamoraging of members to G@H?

Assim:
Actually it was kind of a trick question. ;)
When you're using SetiTEAM you're querying the database online, ie you get real time numbers by UserID and not by UserName or User E-mail.
Example query: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/cgi?cmd=team_lookup&name=matrox+users
As I understand it, this results in a sub result (which you don't see) with current team attached UserIDs, which are then further queried individually. These results are then returned to SetiTEAM (per current UserName (this is a problem because SetiTEAM handdles multiple identical UserNames with the #n addy and adds to the confusion)) which then does the math for you.

The problem with the html numbers on Berkeley is, that they use some kind of caching mechanism for joining and leaving members and this "cache" is only flushed every Saturday, hence the html will only be accurate just immediately after this.

Anyway, to sum it up I don't think the "delayed name change" has any merit when using SetiTEAM. If this is all hog wash? and the SetiTEAM query never involves UserIDs, then I don't see why we even bother.

Re the G@H heaoumouragging (impossible to spell) I don't think we'll see any ressurection soon, bar a client upgrade ;)
I've even changed most to G@H myself because of some stupid ressource problem between the CLi as a service and Outlook in corporate mode.

Do you have any plans of entering the G@H race, or are you wisely focusing your efforts?

Edit: hard to keep track of all the brackets.

I should of known it was a trick question! :p

BTW I'm sticking to S@H ,I'm not gonna whimp out just 'cos the WU times went up!;).I think most of TA SETI think the same way ,seeing as most of them stuck with it.Though there have been some temporary switching to RC5 but that's for other reasons.
It's a shame to see your SETI team go down like that :(
