Overall #9 ranking for Jan in the Club Teams category, but the #?s are all messed up on account of the hacked client. DSL Reports is a ways back but tearing up the charts.

Cool, we're over 1100 WU's again. We were averaging about 1750-1800 WU/day before the 3.03 client but since the WU's take 50% longer 1100 isn't too bad. Still, I think we need to get our average up to around 1200-1250 WU/day. That would give us our old production back and keep us climbing.

Thanks Hellburner!

Rob

Errrr 2 new members and still "only" 1100+ WU's?!? How many members did we lose to pull that one off? 🙁 And what's up with those dutch guys and the canadians?!? 😕 They didn't outproduce us like that before 3.03 did they?

Oh well, we'll just have to grow better, stronger and faster I guess 😉

Thanks for stats Hellburner

With love and respect your fellow TA member

RC5
OGR-25
Seti
Gamma Flux

Canada and the Dutch had to have new members to get those kind of numbers. There's no way they can average that with the 3.03 client. Plus when you look at the entire week, we still gained on them because of our new members. 🙂

One question I have... Has the hacked client been 100% eliminated by the SETI@Home crew? I know there were a few bad apples over at Ars who were using it and I know some other were posting links to in in different forums and the newgroup. I hope they've found a way to invalidate the hacked results.

Rob

Eric Korpela was quite talkative at the end of last week, among is statement was this concerning the hacked client:

"The cheating percentage is currently tiny. Out of the last 400000 results, I don't see any evidence that anyone was using the patched client."

Additionally:

"In general we get three or more results per workunit. If 2/3rd or greater match, it's considered valid"

We're doing OK. We lost some WU's in the shuffle over to 3.03, but we're starting to produce at a steady rate agin.

Michael

Thanks for the stats Hellburner!🙂 I have one question though, about the 3.03 command line client being slower. were the earlier ones faster? Why? I am getting like a 4.5 hr/WU average, is this too slow? Is there any way to make it faster?

Welcome to Team AnandTech!!

Netherlands had three new members with a total of 552 WU's.
(/me senses an exchange of position with Team Slashdot tomorrow.. 😉)

Canada has a new member with 694 new WU's.

Insane3d,

The 3.03 added A LOT more checking into the client. It goes into much finer detail on the signal, looking for more possible signal signatures. Because of that, it takes about 50% longer per WU on average. Your machine probably would have finished 3.0 client WU in about 3 hours...

Just a little note (that sounded interesting to me) to show how we are REALLY doing against these other teams...

This is a chart of the TOTAL number of WU's gained from January 1, 2001 up until today... I think you may find it just as encouraging as I did. 😉

thanks HB and FD!

wow FD, you're all over the stats today, nice!

do remember that a few ships may have been converted to cows because of the switchover, such as my pro 233. i know, thats like 1 a day, but 1 a day for a 100 members is 100 WUs. also, i think it would be a good idea to look at nexus9's or OKs to find if people were doing units before the switchover and then stopped after. that would indicate they haven't gotten the new client. then we could email them. when i get back from DPS this afternoon i'll post that list, if yall think its a good idea.

Fardringle: Those numbers do reflect a lot of WU's before the 3.03 cutoff but they still show that we're not doing as bad as maybe some of us (myself included) thought. Hopefully those who haven't upgraded their client will notice that they're not producing anymore and will get the new client. I like the idea of Email members who were producing before the cutoff and aren't anymore. I'd like to know if I was losing CPU cycles! 🙂

Of couse, they may have switched slower machines over to RC5 but at least we'd know they're still participating in TA distributed computing. Is there anyway to get the Email addresses of those members we identify as "idle"?

Rob

Ah ,our production is going up🙂

Welcome new members 😀

Insane3D
Why? I am getting like a 4.5 hr/WU average, is this too slow? Is there any way to make it faster?

*me falls over backwards off chair!*😉
Too slow!? too slow he says! lol ,that's a balisticly fast WU time for v3.03!😛🙂
I doubt there's anything you can do to speed it up ,assuming you have all your Bios RAM timings maxed out

Thanks for the info HB ,& stats HB & FD 🙂

FD ,I see you've gone stats crazy again 😀 ,when's your next stats spasam? 😉

Elfinex
Yeah I think thats a good idea to E mail recently flatlined accounts 🙂 ,but how are you gonna get their names? ,manually look through all the names on Nexus9's site? ,if so then that work could be spilt up between different members. Each person could check ,say, 15 names & then report back to a thread.

Aren't Hellburner and MGallik the only people with access to all of our members' e-mail addresses?

Thanks for the stats guys! 😀

I noticed that too. Some guys doing 10-20 wu's. 3.03 comes and 0. if i can help with the e-mailing let me know.

Welcome to the new members ! 🙂 😎

Not too bad today ! 🙂
FD : I like your second chart !!! 🙂 😀

Thanks for the stats HB & FD. 🙂

okay, i've got half the list done, peeps who didn't do nothin' in january, i'll compare to OK's week stats when those get posted. can't use the previous week stats because they include v 3 days.

you'd think a guy by the name "Seti-freak" would still be doing work units. you think that anyone hasn't upgraded from 1.0 yet?

Thanks HB and Fard!

I noticed that Smash has dropped from 100 WUs per day to around 10. Wonder if he knows of the switch?

I have my 3 pcs working 24/7 plus I capture 4 pcs in my MCSE class, but I can garantee that those are up and running like mine, but a least I they are on when I'm there twice a week.😉
