Im toying with this idea...

I've got spare:-

128Mb PC133 SDRAM,
6 Gb disk drive,
Voodoo3 3000,
floppy drive,
cdrom

I can get:-

Jetway V266A Sound DDR & SDRAM - £46.41 - info
AMD (Skt A) 1700XP OEM - £44.01
BLACK Case with Perspex Side Panel 300w PSU - £38.27

= £128.69

I know the RAM would choke it, but it's a cheap extra rig which I can sell in a few months (already got a relative who needs a basic web surfer)

And it could be upgraded to DDR in the Future.

How many WU/day would it do with the PC133 ? I reckon it must do at least 4.

ouch, below the mid mark again, can't wait till I'm crankin out 14-16 per day again.

That rig should get 4-6 per day, running something like 4.5-5.0 hr wu's,
The ddr should give you about a 10-15% boost to those times.
 
Wow! ,thats gotta be the 1st KT266a mbrd I've seen that supports SDR SDRAM too!
Will that RAM run at CAS2?
A damn cheap rig you could build there!🙂 ,btw it says the mbrd price is £51.70

My XP1500 @1.52GHz is on a KT133a mbrd,at that clock its on 145MHz FSB ,I also run PC133 CL2 Cruical RAM ,that can do CAS 2-2-2 Turbo at 145MHz🙂.
I get 4hrs/WU with that setup.

Btw Colin I think you misread my post! ,the PIII round my mates house probably won't be 24/7 for much longer (dunno yet,I saw him earlier but forgot to ask!😱).My sons rig rarely runs SETI ,& its anyones guess about my work rigs.😛
 
I'd be pretty happy with under 5 hours / WU. Think I'll go for it.....

I've got a trade account with them so I get a good discount, that's why the prices are different..
Some things like modems are much cheaper (nearly half price).

Assim, you need to get your boy's rig cracking properly, do you want me and the boys to go around and have a word ???
