It must be something in the air. I had a 9hr WU and a 15min WU this morning on a k6-2-400. Normally it takes about ~19 hrs on that machine.

The odd one or two is not unherd of ,but 20 odd in a row is! ,I think the scewed up windows is somehow messing SETI up

She said since she paid for it she wants it that way... I told her she can forget about tech support if she isn't going to trust me

I'm thinking about buying a katmai 600 and a good overclocking board for for my cel 300a. I'm just convinced that cel will do 450 w/2.1 volts.

I think the problem is the CPU and not windows, I had the same
problem on a NT box, I increased the clock bus speed on 2 Cel466 up
to 84 Mhz, result was 4 WUs in less than 5 mins, reduced it to
83Mhz and is now stable.

Do you want that PII350 on a long term loan?

hymy: i have 5 or the celeron 300a's and every one is
already doing 450. some are doing up to 495.
i did have to bump the voltage to 2.1.

i am still waiting on some better cpu grease to go higher.

interesting thing is that some would not go abor 450
right away. after letting them run for a week i was
able to push to 105 and 110 bus.

I screwed the pooch when I built it. The mother board only has autodetect voltage. I could probably tape the pins to get 2.2 volts, but it seems like a better idea to buy a good coppermine MB for the celeron and put a Katmai on the old MB. I'm thinking if I select the right Katmai, I might be able to overclock it at default voltage.

But A 600 katmai costs more than a 600 coppermine. Whats up with that?

I've been running the celeron at 374 for a while now, I keep hoping it will break in a little and start running at 450. But I'm not holding my breath

The cpu is not overclocked in that machine ,it's a PII 333 @ 333MHz.
I know that he got a load of windows corruption errors a little while ago &amp; was only just able to get it going again.It needs reinstalling.
Ref the PII 350 ,thanks I'll think about it ,actually my friend might want to buy it.I'll let you know

Well ,I added my PII 233 @ 280MHz (2.5x112,CAS2) the other day.The first few WU's show a time of around 10.5hrs! :Q ,much faster than I was hoping for .At 24/7 that'll be adding just over 2WU's/day for me(for a few weeks or so anyway ).Not enough to catch ZF3361 ,darn you &amp; those Xeons ,but I should be able to close in on a few people.
The Athlon 700 isn't finshed........yet
