Just ordered my second 3900x from Best Buy for $500; only place not scalping right now.

Was going to hold out for the 3950x; but 12 core is enough for now and may look at upgrading when the next gen Ryzens come out (which I now have a $250 down payment for)

I actually am waiting on the 3950x, just wanted to see availability. I think the shortage is over. Almost everyone has them, only some are over MSRP, but that could change, now that they are widely available.
Ahh okay. Hopefully the 3950x won't have these issues.

I'd suggest anybody that's contemplating purchasing the 3950x to go thru the procrastination phase now. I'm sure they'll be available from many retailers, but it's a who knows on the pent up demand vs the initial supply. Best to get the pass or commit done before they're available at your retailer of choice.

No procrastination here..
I have been sitting on $800 since launch day of x570 just waiting in my account to go to who ever gets the 3950x in stock first!!
Cant say I haven't been tempted a few times to just snag up a 3900x and actually had plenty of times to do so and had them in my cart multiple times but every time this happened I came to my senses and pushed my self to wait it out for the 3950x monster.
I have never wanted a CPU so badly :(

If it helps you thru the troubled times we can make you the official team leader of the pent up demand guys/gals.

Just be prepared to have no remorse when the leaks of Zen3 start appearing. IPC + MHz might be around 20% improvement. The longer these 16C products take to appear the worse it'll be.
Yeah, I totally understand that but I am seriously hoping that first gen Zen3 will be backwards compatible with x570 and or AM4 platform for future upgrades.
If not, no biggie I can always buy up the next best and newest thing a year or so down the line.

Right now though I just want me some 3950x goodness which should tide me and many others over pretty well for some time to come.
Had me a 2950x which was pretty awesome in its own rights so I am expecting the 3950x to blow my socks off.

Pretty exciting times we live in right now with all the technology advancement we are getting to see in our life time...

I remember this one time, back in August, when I went in to order a 3900X for $499.99 at Best Buy to be shipped to me and used a 10% Birthday Coupon code and a 10% Best Buy Visa Rewards redemption code - and they stacked.

Good times... :D

Yeah... those were the days... I remember back in early September when I tried to order a 3900X, needed a note from Mark written on the back of a stack of 20s.

Yeah, I had no problem getting my 3900x in Sept. I really love this chip. I am still using my old mobo, a X370 Asus CH VI Exytreme, and even on this much older board, my 3900X is OC to 4450mhz at 1.26875v. Smooth as ice. It's amazing that this chip can do that on this older board. I am waiting to get an X570 mobo on Black Friday. I am stuck between the CH VIII Hero and the Master. Any suggestions from those who have them???

Hmm, weird, the price of the 3900X has been trending up lately at Amazon. I’m surprised to see a ‘supply' issue continuing at North America's largest e-tailer.

Total speculation on my part, but perhaps most of the 3900X chips are passing all tests and being stocked up as 3950X parts. Hey, one can hope AMD's yield is that good, right? :)

First off, that's an excellent overclock on your chip. What are you using to cool it, and what are you using to measure voltage?

Secondly, the comparison between C8H and Aorus Master is kind of a wash. They're both excellent boards. Aorus Master has some . . . issues with onboard sound and fan behavior for some users. I haven't run into any problems since I'm actually using my video card for sound (Radeon VII) and I keep all my case fans on mobo headers set to max (meaning I don't have any PWM behavior problems). I don't own a C8H but I've heard a few gripes over Asus hiding some fan settings in the UEFI that theoretically could be exposed.

OOC, is that an all core static OC at 4.45G? If so, well done sir. Very well done.

The largest local (Czechia) seller had 5+ 3950X in stock and they are gone now. Another large seller has 3 in stock.

I have the CH VIII Hero and my 3900x is OCed all core to 4.5 at 1.325V. The board is amazing with massive vrms that could easily support a high OC on the 3950x if needed. The board is pricey but worth it if you have a custom loop which I do.
