Hi Everyone,

I haven't overclocked since I had a Q8200. My FX-8350 under a TX-3 was super cool but I knew I had no real headroom without major power draw. Now I've got a Ryzen 2700 under a Deepcool Captain 240EX watercooler in an ASRock x370 Pro4 ATX. My main goal is to have higher sustained all core turbo as I do a lot of photography editing and Adobe Lightroom uses 100% frequently.

4ghz 1.3V wasn't prime95 stable out of the gate. CPUz showed that my Vcore went from 1.298 to 1.225 under load, which I think is a huge amount of drop. Temps hit about 63F, locked up after a few minutes. I can game on it just fine but prime mixed just kills it.

3.9Ghz 1.3V seems to be stable. Vcore drops to 1.25 or so under full stress test, which still seems high. Temps stop at 61 but I don't heat the fans on the watercooler radiator spin higher at all. EDIT: Temps jumped to 74 doing a full Cinebench 20 multicore run. It scored 3784. Should I drop it to 3.8 or lower at that voltage?

Should I be shooting for 3.8 @ 1.25V or something like that?

Thanks in advance.72814523_10219887884964786_7219956663002857472_o (1).jpg

Hmm, I had my 2700 in an Asus B450-F ROG STRIX Gaming ATX (still the mobo in my current "main" PC, only I now have a 3600, which seems faster than the 2700 in most things), and I had it, IIRC, @ 4.0Ghz, 1.35V or 1.40V, or somewhere in-between. I had it running at 4.0Ghz 24/7 doing WCG tasks, using a CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite 240 240mm AIO WC mounted as exhaust on the top of my Rosewill Stryker M case.

Temps were around 80-85C.

Oh, also, I've read reviews commenting how that board, "Wasn't a true X370 board", because the VRM section, and the entire board layout, was basically identical to their B350 board, they simply swapped the chipset during assembly of the board (more or less). That may be why you're seeing so much Vdroop, and having trouble OCing. Maybe consider another board?
