looking at sceenshots the graphics are good but dont seem as fully detailed as Crysis 3 on max settings

But the art direction makes it look more "realistic" than Crysis 3. To me, Ryse looked better than Crysis 3, though Crysis 3 was more detailed.

Everyone I ever talked to about Crysis liked the realistic jungle/beach part much more than the alien vistas. I think Far Cry worked well because it was "closer" to reality. As much as I like Crytek, they had the tools to make TLOU or a annual BF type game, that income would have given them a foothold to survive.

It's hard to build up tension when the suit is clearly the focus. Crytek couldn't make story driven games, even if they had the TLOU IP, I doubt they would have pulled it off.

Lol it was 5 .

But I liked that game due to many reasons and in 4 & 5 qte's never bothered me but in 6 I was annoyed.

No solid release date but the Xbox One exclusive/launch titles has been confirmed to for a Windows release. It will include all previously released DLC and support 4K resolutions. Crytek says it will be out sometime later this year.

Anybody play this on the Xbone? IIRC, the reviews weren't that great.

The game play sucked. But the graphics kept me going. It was just so visually stunning, I couldn't put the controller down.

German website Hardwareluxx revealed that Crytek’s upcoming PC version of Ryse: Son of Rome will support AMD’s Mantle API. This obviously does not surprise us as most – if not all – future CRYENGINE-powered games will support this API. After all, we believe that this was one of the reasons Crytek decided to implement native support for Mantle in CRYENGINE.

what exactly does "4k support" mean?

does that mean it's going to ship with 4k textures making the game download unneccesarily huge for 99% of gamers?

I think they mean 4k (UHD) screen resolutions.

The bigest news here is that the game releases Oct 10th, it costs $40 and it's now up for pre-order on Steam. 🙂

I'm pretty sure it should be backwards-compatible with Xbox 360 controllers.

Yeah actually games don't use any specific XB1 controller features at all. It's just a different feeling 360 controller when used on a PC.

Picked this up on sale. I now think its better looking than Crysis 3. Best graphics ive ever seen in a released game.

I just picked it up too. Played the whole thing already. Not very long, but worth a few bucks and it's visually appealing.
