That's not an MR2, it's a Dodge Stealth, rebadged 3000GT 😛
 
CRX's are a blast to drive. my family sort of inhereted a 1986 base model for a while. it needed engine work and an alignment and the body was in crap condition, but my brother and i used to take it and wring the hell out of it once in a while. you could grab rubber in 3rd gear. even my DAD grabbed rubber in 3rd gear, just getting on the freeway on a short on-ramp. anyway, we gave it away to charity after 6 months or so.

i had a friend in high school who had an Si of the same vintage as the one in the pics, with an Integra GSR engine swap. The swap had issues, but he said it was faster than the Mustang 5.0 he bought to replace it.
