So things don't seem to be getting any better between these two. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but I saw this a little bit last year and now it's definitely much worse.

It's either a huge scam & they're playin' it as a sideline, or they're really just done with eachother & would just as soon gouge eachother's eyes out. (Methinks the latter)

Anyone can step in and do what Seacrest does.
Cowell IS the show.
They will sink without him.
I think Seacrest should be very careful.

What happened tonight?

Anyways, Seacrest has that Entertainment Tonight gig right? He's not hurting for work.

It was just more of what kinda' started last night.

Cowell would come off w/ some rude remarks & Ryan would retort w/ criticism, specifically calling Cowell to the table.

But they just wouldn't stop. They kept getting in jabs one after the other.

I dont know which was worse.......last night's amplified, "ackward" single incident, or tonight's multiple incidents, which included Simon accusing Ryan of wanting to date one of the girls......which was answered by multiple people saying "What?" (I think Randy was one of them).

I could tell Ryan was dumbfounded at the remark, but also just DONE w/ Simon at that point. I think that Ryan has definitely grown some balls over the years and is now quite confident in his opinion.

Actually, it was last night (the guy's competition). Seacrest and Cowell got into a bit of a catfight after Cowell called Seacrest "sweetheart". Seacrest spent the rest of the show taking little shots at Cowell.

They were fine with each other during the girl's night.

edit: I apparently missed the part where Cowell said that Seacrest wanted to ask out one of the girls while fast-forwarding.

Incorrect.

See above post.

Edited for Queasy's edit..........but I do agree w/ you....last night was ugly.......and obviously 'ackward' for Cowell. :p

I'm sure they're not out getting drinks together after a taping but I think it's obvious that they play up the "we hate each other" roles for the camera. It makes for good TV and adds another dynamic to American Idol.

I liked when Simon said that one chick singing looked as fake as Ryan doing the news :)

It's probably staged for ratings but the remarks themselves are not scripted. The entire show is carefully crafted to boost ratings. Like at the end of Hollywood week when it showed the judges mulling over who to keep. Yeah right! If you don't think a huge committee went through the group with a fine tooth comb to pick out the people who would generate the most ratings you're kidding yourself. It's how that tool Antonella get into the top 24 over the other chick.

I still believe the call in votes decide the final outcome, but there's a lot of people pulling strings behind the scenes.
