RX480 and dual 4K 60Hz monitor woes, what to do?

I did everything I could to fix the DP problem including DDU'ing my previous drivers in safe mode and deleting/fixing registry entries under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\Configuration. The only thing left is to do a clean reinstall and I won't have time to do it until two weeks from now.

Wish MS would just patch the darn OS not to do it.
This happens on ANY brand (AMD or Nvidia) of card, doesn't really matter which OEM made it either.

The only surefire 'fix' that I know of is getting the hardware dongle that prevents windows from thinking the monitor is disconnected.
Those are $20 a pop though.
