:music:Gold' diggin' girls, drivin' me crazy I can't take it no more

Fellas sing!

(Gold diggin' girls, drivin' me crazy I can't take it no more)

Now I really don't know what the heck is goin' on

All I really know, man, somethin' is wrong

About a couple of girls I know askin' for things

From diamonds to chains, bracelets, bangles and gold rings

They want to drive my car, they want to spend my money

Everytime they want somethin', it's come here honey

But I'm not a fool, and I don't play no games

How dare you ask for somethin'?You don't even know my name

Your hair is all fixed, your jeans real tight

But if you don't clock dollars, you won't party tonight

You'll have to settle for less, and that means nothin'

You say you won't have sex, well I think that you're bluffin'

Girl I know your secrets, that's why my money's stacked

You either want gold, or my cadillac

Who're you tryin' to fool? The D is never slippin'

I'm still nasty as Hell, and to girls that be trippin':music:

it completely cheapens the press conference they held where the whole team "accepted" his apology. to come out and do this months later is just sad.

They should've picked a lesser asshat of a lawyer, cause he seemed like a real douchebag. And media are asshats for blowing this up as well. I can't say that I wouldn't be suing Imus, not that I don't think its ridiculous but I mean its at least a chance for free money if they get an asshat judge. Would you really say no to this, if you thought there was a good chance that you were going to get paid off? I bet theres a decent number of bloodsuckers that would do this case for the chance of a payout. Someone's probably whispering in their ear telling them to get paid off with a lawsuit and theres a lotta bunk cases that have won in the past (Remember McDonald's hot coffee case?) I'd say they should get a payout before the old, coffee burned legs, waste of life hag.

Technically he committed slander, folks. (Or libel, whichever is the spoken one as opposed to written)

Every single one of you saying "she's a money grubbing bitch" or even "what a jerk" could be sued for libel for saying it. Would the suer ever win? Of course not. Nor should they, there needs to be a certain amount of sucking up when people say mean stuff about you, I'm simply saying by the letter of the law, she has a case.

If someone told me I could win a million dollars by crying and pretending I was genuinely damaged by someone calling me a mean name, and I could be reasonably sure doing so wouldn't leave the person financially destitute, I'd do it. It's not like this'll be on all our minds in a year's time. No one's gonna recognize her walking down the street. It'd be like winning the lottery for being a manipulative asshole. Plenty of people here would do it.

It's not slander if it's true! And in all of these cases, it is.

She is suing for monetary damages, how does that restore her "good name" and reputation?

In my business, it is called "Settlement Check Therapy".

So you maintain that these girls are unintelligent enforcers who are only in college because they were scary black girls who dominated at basketball? That is more or less what Imus and McGuirk were insinuating. They were commenting that Rutgurs recruited such girls in order to win the champship, unlike Tennesse that at least had some attractive girls.

I haven't looked at the film in awhile, but I really don't recall him calling her by name or demonstrating in any fashion as the film rolled. Something more along the lines of "they look like nappy headed hoes". I'd have to look at the way the statute is written, but sounds awfully vague to try and conduct a lawsuit by (particularly given the number of people on TV calling each other idiot among other things).

lol @ suing for most things. People sue for wrongful death too... while that does punish the culprit, it does not bring back their beloved relative.

So would they donate the winnings ? OF COURSE NOT. In most cases, it's a joke. Hate the game, and the playas. Most lawyers can go to hell.

Yeah, that case wouldn't have gone well.

"I'm suing Imus for damaging my reputation."

"Actually, this survey shows that before you filed suit, almost no one in America knew your name, and those that did had a positive attitude about you. After filing the suit, suddenly your name was being insulted across the country. If anyone should be sued for damaging your reputation, it should be yourself."

I was wondering when this would happen.

same. i am suprised it took so long.

wonder when the other's are going to file? at first i thought they were just attention whores. now i know they are greedy fucking attention whores.

You do realize it wasn't them who started or maintained the controversy? They had very few statements in the media. Not to mention they had just won a national champship and suddenly they were being sideswipped into a completely different story...

They didn't win....

anyone smell some irony? i'd say these Rutger students (fans) pulled a Don Imus.

Rutgers ?sorry? for anti-Navy jeers

By Chris Amos - Staff writer
Posted : Wednesday Sep 12, 2007 16:26:07 EDT

The president of Rutgers University apologized Tuesday to Naval Academy Superintendent Vice Adm. Jeffrey Fowler after Rutgers University fans serenaded Navy football players and fans with profane jeers during much of a 41-24 win by the nationally ranked Scarlet Knights on Sept. 7.

Bill Squires, a 1975 Naval Academy graduate who serves as a Naval Academy recruiting coordinator in New Jersey, was at the game. He said he first heard the abuse in the second quarter when a section of about 60 drunken students began screaming at a small group of midshipmen who sat in an adjoining section.

?All the sudden I hear this ?F--- you, Navy, f--- you, Navy? chanting for like 45 seconds,? he said, adding that Navy fans and football players ignored the hard words, but the Navy band did not. It struck up ?Anchors Aweigh,? drowning out the hecklers.

Later, when he and a Navy lieutenant stationed at the Naval Academy walked to a stadium bathroom, Squires said a drunken Rutgers fan confronted them in the doorway, screaming more profanity at them about how badly Navy was losing.

And when Midshipman Reggie Campbell, a 168-pound slot back, was tackled returning a kickoff, ?showing all the heart and desire that the Navy team stands for? against the larger Rutgers players, according to Squires, the same group of fans jeered and cursed him, chanting ?you got f---ed up? in unison as he walked from the field.

Squires, who has run Yankee Stadium, Giants Stadium and the Cleveland Browns? stadium during a long career in sports management, said he was no stranger to the antics of obnoxious fans.

?I am very attuned to fan misbehavior, and I have seen some pretty bad things in my day,? he said. ?This is one of the worst. It?s in the top 3.?

Rutgers officials apparently agreed.

?No student athlete should ever be subject to profane language directed at them from the crowd, and certainly not the young men of the Naval Academy who have made a commitment to serve our nation in a time of war,? university President Richard McCormick wrote in an open letter to Fowler and the Rutgers student body. ?Your midshipmen conducted themselves with dignity throughout the game and have my admiration.?

Naval Academy athletic department spokesman Scott Strasemeir said he was aware of the incident but declined to comment, other than to say that there had been communication between officials at both schools about it and that the Navy athletic department considered the matter closed.

?How anybody can root against a service academy when [graduates] are going to be asked to put their lives on the line, I don?t know how you can do that.? Squires said. ?It goes to show you the social changes taking place in our country. It?s not just Rutgers. It?s elsewhere throughout this country. But it wasn?t more plain and visible than what I saw Friday night.?

Squires said that older Rutgers fans showed more respect for the Navy team.

?They weren?t 100 percent jerks. It was really the students. It was young kids who don?t seem to get it,? he said, contrasting the Rutgers? fans actions with the midshipmen who were there.

?I was so proud of the midshipmen because there was no reaction from them,? Squires said. ?They took it. They stood tall. They did what they were taught to do. I am not sure, if I was 30 years younger in my white uniform, I wouldn?t have reacted differently.?

I hope this thread has ended now. I was ashamed that so many AT forum folks were letting their peaked white hats hang out. I mourn our society particularly because so much of it's future, it's young people have lost all sense of decency and gentility.

It is sad, wether it be in the world of entertainment, sports, or just plain everyday living, that "good" is no longer a value.
