hate to say it... but she was a slender female and that was a handicap in her line of work no matter how well she was trained.

She is so dumb. It's just car, let them have it. She could have always bought another one.

She was probably thinking more about her image/profession than her car. How's it going to look to prospective employers when she can't even protect her car?

Well, she doesn't have to worry about that now, does she?

Not to be sexist, but wtf is the point of a female bodyguard?

Not to be sexist, but wtf is the point of a male bodyguard?

To guard someone duh! If you can take a punch, dish it out, kick people's asses, etc... who the hell cares what you are.

I'll take a male with equivalent training to any given female because a male will be, on average, stronger and better equipped to deal with contingencies that would pop up in that line of work. Plus a male bodyguard is going to be superficially much more intimidating, which offers a great deal of protection in and of itself.

Honestly, I'd be more intimidated by a female who could kick your ass than any male. I'm married, trust me - a female definitely has more insight into kicking asses than any male.

Moscow is a funny place.

When you stroll around the city, you can't help but notice all the guidos like the unexaggerated Vigo Mortenssen character from "Eastern Promises" protecting some lair......black shades, suit, gloves, stare-you-down attitude.....and the really EXPENSIVE car (even more $$$ for Russians) their chauffering.

A Russian tour guide acknowledged that Moscow is like the Wild West with all the not afraid to use gun toting thugs running about.

Another thing that's funny is that every upper scale "Western" hotel is populated by lots of prostitutes. I've never heard as many sex sounds emanating from the hallways as I did when I visited Moscow. LOL.

Why not both? The male and the female. The article explained some of the female benefits.

Don't think you could have taken her.

A female that's trained is just about as good as an equally trained male and sometimes better.

A female will offer the element of surprise and perhaps get a less than able person sent for you.

For the most part, it's not like the movies where you get an small army of 20 dudes looking to kidnap a czar. It's just Joe Somebody with a nice bankroll put away that can afford to protect that a little better. They have different levels of hired security from unarmed all the way to heavy armor/munitions.
