If you read what the lawmakers said, a lot of it holds true. Russiaphobia has taken hold in this administration, and unless they orchestrate these responses, and the intention all along was to use Flynn as a fall-guy to instill some future plausible deniability in all future conversations the Trump Administration has with Russia, then we are being irrational with our harsh response to Flynn.
Trump may be overplaying his hand by orchestrating this "event" to quash rumors of the cooperation with Russia, and dupe the public into thinking it was only with Flynn and now we're good. Or Trump is being dominated by the insinuations that he has too close of ties to Russia and is letting the public's opinion interfere with the running of his Administration.
Either way we are doomed.
Technically unrelated but is there a world that exists where Russia is our allies? Is that relationship repairable in a certain time frame?
